Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • teaspoons instant yeast 1 packet
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water 110-115°F
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

For the Cheese Topping:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or grease it with olive oil.
  • Make the Dough: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the warm water and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 3-5 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form into a ball and let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Shape the Breadsticks: Roll the dough into a rectangle about 15x10 inches and transfer to your baking sheet. Press your fingertips into the dough to create indentations.
  • Add the Toppings: Brush the dough with the remaining olive oil and melted butter. In a bowl, mix the cheeses, garlic powder, herbs, and red pepper flakes. Spread the mixture evenly over the dough.
  • Score the Dough: Use a pizza cutter or knife to score the dough into 12-16 breadsticks without cutting all the way through.
  • Bake: Bake for 15-18 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Optionally, broil for 1-2 minutes for extra color.
  • Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh parsley on top and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add roasted garlic powder or swap some mozzarella for provolone.
  • Breadsticks are best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in an oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.
  • Serve with marinara sauce, ranch, or garlic butter for dipping.
