Ingredients
  

Cake Batter:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup buttermilk

Butter Topping:

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup cream cheese
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions
 

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch cake pan.

    2️⃣ Prepare the cake batter:

    • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • In a separate bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
    • Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet, alternating with buttermilk.

    3️⃣ Make the butter topping:

    • Cream butter, cream cheese, and sugar until smooth. Spread evenly over the cake batter.

    4️⃣ Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

      5️⃣ Cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

        6️⃣ Serve warm with vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce. Enjoy! 🍨

          Notes

          For a crispier crust, bake at 325°F for 45 minutes.
          For a moist cake, add 1 tbsp of milk if batter feels dry.
