Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup honey preferably raw or clover honey
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips optional, for extra fudginess

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, honey, and granulated sugar. Stir until smooth. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt, cocoa powder, and flour. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  • Optional Additions: Gently fold in the chocolate chips if using.
  • Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For healthier options, replace half the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
  • Swap gluten-free flour for the all-purpose flour for a GF version.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature or up to a week in the fridge.
