Ingredients
  

For the Flaky Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¾ cup water room temperature
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter

For the Juicy Filling:

  • 1 whole chicken cut up
  • 2 containers chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon Marjoram
  • 1 tablespoon Poultry Seasoning

Optional Add-ins and Seasonings:

  • Diced vegetables carrots, peas
  • Paprika
  • Garlic powder
  • Black pepper

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

  • Mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
  • Gradually add ¾ cup of water and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Mix gently until dough forms.
  • Roll out the dough to about ⅛-inch thickness. Let it rest and chill for 15 minutes.

Cook the Chicken Filling:

  • In a large pot, cook the whole chicken in 2 containers of chicken broth. Add 1 tablespoon each of Marjoram and Poultry Seasoning.
  • Once the chicken is cooked, shred it. Simmer the broth to reduce and thicken slightly.

Assemble the Pastry:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  • Layer the chicken filling on one half of the dough, fold over, and seal the edges. Use a pastry brush to apply melted butter or an egg wash on top.

Bake:

  • Place the pastries on a baking sheet and bake for 35 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve:

  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Variations: Add diced ham, bacon, or your favorite vegetables for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
