For the Flaky Crust: 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder ¾ cup water room temperature 3 tablespoons melted butter For the Juicy Filling: 1 whole chicken cut up 2 containers chicken broth 1 tablespoon Marjoram 1 tablespoon Poultry Seasoning Optional Add-ins and Seasonings: Diced vegetables carrots, peas Paprika Garlic powder Black pepper
Prepare the Dough: Mix 2 cups of all-purpose flour with 1 tablespoon of baking powder.
Gradually add ¾ cup of water and 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Mix gently until dough forms.
Roll out the dough to about ⅛-inch thickness. Let it rest and chill for 15 minutes.
Cook the Chicken Filling: In a large pot, cook the whole chicken in 2 containers of chicken broth. Add 1 tablespoon each of Marjoram and Poultry Seasoning.
Once the chicken is cooked, shred it. Simmer the broth to reduce and thicken slightly.
Assemble the Pastry: Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
Layer the chicken filling on one half of the dough, fold over, and seal the edges. Use a pastry brush to apply melted butter or an egg wash on top.
