The Foundation:
- 1 loaf brioche bread about 1 pound
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 1 cup whole milk
The Flavoring Agents:
- 2 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp orange liqueur optional
The Caramelized Topping:
- 3/4 cup brown sugar packed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter

Prepare the Caramel Base:
Heat brown sugar, butter, and maple syrup in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until smooth.
