Equipment

  • Blender

Ingredients

Core Ingredients:

  • 2 cups fresh pineapple chunks or frozen for a thicker smoothie
  • 2 large oranges peeled and segmented (or ¾ cup orange juice)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt full-fat, 2%, or non-fat
  • ½ cup ice cubes omit if using frozen fruit
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup optional

Optional Boosters:

  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed or chia seeds
  • 1- inch fresh ginger peeled
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • ¼ cup coconut milk
  • Handful of spinach
  • ½ frozen banana

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare Fruits

  • Chop pineapple into chunks, removing the core if preferred.
  • Peel and segment oranges, catching excess juice in a bowl.
  • Optionally, freeze pineapple chunks for 1-2 hours for a thicker smoothie.

Step 2: Layer Blender Ingredients

  • Add liquids (yogurt, coconut milk, or juice) first.
  • Add any boosters like protein powder or seeds.
  • Layer in orange segments and pineapple chunks.
  • Top with ice cubes to help with blending.

Step 3: Blend to Perfection

  • Start on low for 10-15 seconds.
  • Gradually increase to high for 30-45 seconds.
  • Stop and scrape down if needed; add liquid if too thick.

Step 4: Taste and Adjust

  • Taste for sweetness—add honey/maple syrup if needed.
  • Adjust thickness by adding ice (for thicker) or juice (for thinner).
  • Blend again if modifications are made.

Step 5: Serve & Garnish

  • Pour into chilled glasses.
  • Garnish with pineapple wedges, orange slices, or mint.
  • Enjoy immediately!
