Equipment

  • 6 oven-safe ramekins

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough homemade or store-bought
  • 2 cups marinara or pizza sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • Your choice of toppings pepperoni, sausage, vegetables, etc.

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease the ramekins with olive oil.
  • Prepare Dough: Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut circles slightly larger than your ramekins.
  • Layer Fillings: In each ramekin, layer your toppings, mozzarella cheese, ricotta, and marinara sauce.
  • Top with Dough: Place a dough circle over each ramekin, pressing the edges to seal. Cut a small vent in the center of each dough top.
  • Egg Wash: Brush the dough with beaten egg for a golden crust.
  • Bake: Place ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, until the crust is golden brown.
  • Serve: Let cool for 5 minutes, then carefully flip each ramekin onto a plate to serve.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add extra red pepper flakes or hot sauce to the marinara.
  • Use puff pastry for a flakier crust.
  • Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
