Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour King Arthur recommended for best results
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • 3 large ripe bananas the darker, the better!
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Salted Caramel Components:

  • 1/4 cup homemade or high-quality caramel sauce
  • Flaky sea salt Maldon recommended

Instructions
 

Preheat & Prep:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.

Mash & Mix Wet Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, mash the bananas until mostly smooth.
  • Add melted butter, eggs, and brown sugar and whisk until fully combined and slightly frothy.

Combine Dry Ingredients:

  • In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Create the Batter:
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a spatula.
  • Mix until just combined—don’t overmix to keep the bread tender.

Add Caramel Swirl:

  • Pour half the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Drizzle half of the caramel sauce and sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt.
  • Use a knife to gently swirl.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter, caramel, and salt.

Bake:

  • Bake for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs.
